Since May 2025, our company, DASEN MACHINERY, has undertaken the EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project for a gold heap leaching plant in Zimbabwe. Following geological trench sampling and ore assay, we selected surface oxide gold ore with an average grade of 1.2 grams per ton for heap leaching.
The construction of this new heap leaching site, from planning to the start of chemical spraying, took approximately 30 days. However, the project was delayed by 10 days due to waiting for construction materials (e.g., concrete) for the heap structure; ideally, the spraying phase should commence within 20 days under normal circumstances.
We estimate that 50-60% of the gold in the heap will be recovered within around 40 days of leaching. Based on this recovery rate, the total pure gold output is expected to reach 12.5 kg (calculated based on the project’s design capacity and ore grade). With the current international gold price at approximately USD 60,000 per kilogram, the total revenue is estimated at USD 750,000 (adjusted for market accuracy).
For heap leaching, sodium cyanide is the most effective reagent, with a consumption rate of 400-450 grams per ton of ore. For mines where raw ore contains arsenic, targeted addition of auxiliary agents can significantly suppress arsenic’s adverse effects on gold leaching, thereby improving recovery efficiency.
