How Does the All – Slime Cyanidation Carbon – in – Pulp Gold Extraction Process Work?

The following section delves into the all – slime cyanidation carbon – in – pulp gold extraction process, a crucial method in the extraction of gold by cyanide process. Cyanide leaching plays a central role in this process, and it’s essential to understand the significance of cyanide in gold mining.

The ore journey begins as it’s transported to a crude ore bunker and fed into a crusher by a feeder. After coarse crushing, the ore goes through a series of steps including screening and re – crushing. The undersize ore within the specified grinding particle size range is then directed to a fine ore bin. From there, it enters a first – stage grinding mill and classifier for coarse grinding.

One of the key aspects of this process is cyanide leaching. Sodium cyanide for gold extraction is a vital gold leaching chemical used in this process. The coarsely ground ore, with a typical particle size of -0.074mm accounting for around 60% in the first stage, needs further refinement. A hydrocyclone cluster for second – stage grinding is used to ensure the particle size of -0.074mm reaches approximately 90%.
The pulp, which has a hydrocyclone overflow concentration of around 20%, needs to be concentrated to 35 – 45% for cyanide leaching and carbon adsorption. This is achieved using a thickener, after removing impurities with a trash screen. The thickener’s underflow is then pumped into a leaching tank where cyanide is added, along with medium – pressure air and activated carbon.
The use of an energy – efficient dual – impeller agitating tank helps in preventing the loss of gold – loaded carbon. The pre – leaching process and the simultaneous multi – stage leaching and adsorption process result in gold – loaded carbon with a grade of 3000 – 4000g/t being lifted out.
The gold – loaded carbon is then desorbed and electrolyzed. Normal temperature pressure desorption electrolysis systems and high – temperature pressure desorption electrolysis systems are common in China. The barren carbon is regenerated and recycled back to the cyanide leaching shop.

The gold slime obtained from the desorption electrolysis process is melted to obtain gold ingots. Tailings from the gold cyanide solution leaching process can be treated either through alkalization for direct discharge or through a dry – discharge process.
