In March 2021, we supplied a mineral processing solution using three-disc electromagnetic separators as the main equipment for treating tantalum-niobium ore. After understanding the customer’s plant requirements and the tantalum-niobium ore details, we suggested a combined gravity and magnetic separation approach. The customer required a small-scale plant as a trial, intending to start with a pilot operation and then expand after assessing the results.

They provided us with images and videos of the raw ore, showcasing materials they had washed and tested. The results indicated good content in both the raw and washed ore. Following discussions on these specifics, we recommended a small-scale gravity and magnetic separation setup with a capacity of 1 tonne per hour.

Gravity separation equipment: vibrating screen, double roll crusher, shaking table, etc.

Magnetic separation equipment: three-disc electromagnetic separator.

Once the tantalum-niobium ore processing flow was finalized, we promptly initiated production, manufacturing, and shipment arrangements.

Our Services:

We delivered installation drawings for the gravity and magnetic separation equipment. As the customer had their own engineers, they did not request on-site support from our engineers. With the drawings and guidance provided, they successfully installed the equipment.

Tantalum-niobium ore is a rare mineral with a high specific gravity, making gravity processing well-suited for its extraction. We achieved good results with a high recovery rate. Following gravity separation, magnetic separators were used to remove iron, ilmenite, and other impurities. The final tantalum-niobium concentrate reached a content level exceeding 30%.
