Hilary, who leads the project, sent back footage from the site recently. The mine sits in open savanna, and there is a natural water source right beside it. That was no accident — washing is where most of the water in Ta-Nb-Sn beneficiation goes, and we checked water access during the survey stage. A decision like that quietly saves a project real money every single month.

One more thing from the footage that I always point out to visitors: beside the camp, our crew cleared a patch of bush and planted vegetables and fruit. Small detail? Maybe. But anyone who has kept a remote camp running knows a settled, well-fed team is what keeps a plant producing month after month. You learn this by operating mines. You do not learn it from a catalog.

The 100TPH Flowsheet We Designed for This Ore

There is no standard recipe for tantalum-niobium ore. The method depends on the mineral composition and how much valuable material the raw ore carries — so we start from assay results every time, never from a template.

For this deposit, we built a 100 tons-per-hour line:

Washing. A vibrating feeder sends raw ore into a trommel scrubber. The scrubber removes clay and takes out oversize rock in one pass. With weathered alluvial ore — which is what you find across much of Nigeria — poor washing is the single most common reason recovery falls short.

Screening. A vibrating screen splits the washed ore into size fractions, so each machine downstream gets the particle size it handles best.

Gravity separation. Jig machines and shaking tables pull the heavy Ta-Nb-Sn minerals away from the light waste. No chemicals, low power draw, solid recovery. For this ore, gravity is the cheapest way to a good result.

Magnetic separation. A three-disc magnetic separator upgrades the concentrate at the end, splitting columbite-tantalite from cassiterite so each product sells at its proper grade.

We drew the flowsheet, built every machine in our own factory, and our engineers installed and commissioned the line on site. One team carried it from first survey to first concentrate.
