About the Somali Gold Ore

The degree of oxidation in this Somali gold ore is good. There is no obvious pyritization, and the ore has fully oxidized into brown limonite. This is exactly the kind of ore that responds well to leaching.

The gold content is 1.8 to 3 ppm (grams per ton).

After checking the ore, our engineer confirmed that this gold ore is very suitable for the gold leaching (CIL/CIP) process.

Choosing the Right Plant Size

At first, the customer wanted a container-type gold leaching plant. However, our engineer explained that the container type was too small for this customer’s needs.

After discussing the project, the customer decided that a 200 TPD (tons per day) gold leaching plant was the better fit for their mine.

With a large-capacity gold leaching plant, the customer can generally recover more total gold from the operation. This makes it especially well-suited to gold ore with a lower gold content, where processing a higher volume of ore is the key to good output.
